The Recovery Place, Inc. is extremely pleased to announce that Dr. Mark Gold, through the University of Florida College of Medicine, has joined the Recovery Place’s clinical team as a consultant in bridging the gap between research and practice.

The Recovery Place, Inc. is extremely pleased to announce that Dr. Mark Gold, through the University of Florida College of Medicine, has joined the Recovery Place’s clinical team as a consultant in bridging the gap between research and practice.

Dr. Gold is the Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Florida and started and has developed the McKnight Brain Institute’s groundbreaking addiction research over the past 21 years in the areas of drug abuse, drug effects on the brain and behavior, and addiction as a disease. Dr. Gold and his Addiction Research Group have made major contributions to the field in tobacco, alcohol, drug and process addiction. The Department of Psychiatry’s Addiction Research Group has basic clinical research labs at the McKnight Brain Institute and at the University’s Proteomic, NanoMedicine, and Genetics Facilities.

The University of Florida is at the forefront of translating the results of scientific discovery into treatments for recovery. The University’s Florida Recovery Center has one of the largest academic addiction training programs and also full time faculties in the United States.

Gold, M.D. is the Donald Dizney Eminent Scholar and Distinguished Professor, University of Florida College or Medicine and McKnight Brain Institute Departments of Psychiatry, Neuroscience, Anesthesiology, Community Health and Family Medicine, and the Chairman of the Department of Psychiatry.
